BIOGRAPHY :

Ioannis Kourtis was born in Thessaloniki (Greece) in 1973. He

follows guitar and violin lessons and he studies also music

theory and composition at Delidimou's music school. In 1992,

he is accepted at Ionian University in the music department and

in 2000 he obtains his master of music composition. He has

written many works for orchestra and room ensembles and

some of them were recorded by Greek and French radios. Also,

he wrote music for documentaries, advertising, etc. In 2001, he

became finalist of The International Film Composers

Competition in Luneville, where he also was fortunate enough

to meet the respected A composers Vladimir Cosma and

Michael Kamen. 

He was member of the panel of jury in the International Festival

of Cinema and Technology which took place in Paris in 2002

and also he was active participant in 2004 Cannes Festival.
