A  SUMMARY  OF  THE  BOOK :  

 My interest and involvement ultimately stem from the universal fascination we all feel for the compelling unsolved mysteries of modern history. Also in my capacity as an investigative journalist, I was utterly drawn to the tragic  case of the Estonia Baltic Sea ferry disaster.

Enough new information, facts, testimonies and studies kept coming up at every turn to make this case captivating. I covered the various different aspects of this case, the largest civilian ship catastrophe in peacetime, in a total of 14 television documentaries and reports. I spoke with many of the survivors, followed the fates of surviving relatives, forged contacts with all investigating authorities and commissions, family member organizations, the shipyard as well as the politicians involved. Yet the deeper my research into the background of this shipwreck went, the more negligent and slipshod the nature of the official investigations became.
