AUTHOR  BIO :

      Louis Poessel was born in El Campo, Texas on April 9, 1949.  He attended school in the Tidehaven Independent School District and graduated from Tidehaven High School in 1967.  After high school graduation he attended and later graduated from Wharton County Junior College where he earned an Associate in Arts Degree.  His education was continued at Sam Houston State University where he once again graduated with a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Agriculture Education.

     Since his formal retirement several years ago, Louis spends his time writing and working in his yard.  He lives with his wife and three Persian cats in the seaside community of Palacios, Texas.  His wife Debbie is a Kindergarten teacher for the Palacios Independent School District.  Coastal activities sometimes suggest potential stories and Louis and Debbie can often be seen along the water's edge.  At this time Louis has two published books with another awaiting the editing process. Both published books deal with the paranormal and while fiction; a sprinkling of his rural upbringing can be found in the stories.

     Shadow People Books are the product of his vivid imagination.  Readers will soon find themselves in fast paced action where anything is possible and indeed probable.  His characters seem to come to life on the pages of his writing as they grasp the readers while pulling them into the story.  Critics have commented, "his science fiction offers a new twist to traditional sci-fi as he often uses new terms and situations in his work." His subject matter is often controversial and defies the norm.  Fans of his writing suggest that perhaps answers to the unknown may be found on the pages of Shadow People Books.

A SUMMARY OF THE BOOK : 

Top of  the Food Chain

Purely fictional account of one of the great mysteries of mankind. Each year thousand of individuals worldwide disappear without a trace. What if these disappearances were proven to be the result of extraterrestrials? What if the motives of this alien civilization were survival? Would the countries of the world unite to solve such a problem if the only areas that experienced abductions were poverty-stricken third world areas that are facing extreme over population? Who can answer questions like these?

Mankind is a creature that has evolved into an intellectual life form because of a radical twist in his evolutionary path. The food chain that we depend upon is also a product of evolution. Any sudden change whether by nature or by man could force mankind to search for alternate food sources for survival? Who can predict the choices man would make when faced with starvation?

While this story and all characters are purely fiction, I invite the reader to stop at intervals and try and decide what choices you might make if forced with the certainty of death. Our perspectives change greatly as would other life forms. The great distances in space are challenges to our exploration of the Cosmos. Perhaps the distances are great for a reason. The less contact one life form has with another life form the better the chances of survival for both civilizations. This is a lesson that mankind will surely learn once he faces the question of who will remain at the Top of the Food Chain.

Dreams-The Return - dream trilogy

The technology known as dream transversion proves once again that manipulation of the rules of nature comes with a price. The dream technology used by man without regard to the laws of physics provides the reader with a suspense filled journey into the foggy world of shadows.
